Japan National Tourism were looking for a co-operative campaign that would increase visitation, awareness of Japan's diverse offering and drive database acquisition.

We typically know the type of holiday we want when we book travel; relaxing, spiritual, action-packed. But, what most of us don’t realise, is that we're subconsciously planning our trips based on something else — pace.

Travel is traditionally categorised into activity types (shopping, outdoors, nightlife), but pace remains unacknowledged by the industry; meaning travellers can miss out on valuable experiences lost inside these conventional methods.

The Discovery Dial is a whole new way to discover Japan. The interactive interface is controlled by a single dial that filters experiences from slow to fast, flipping the conventional method on its head.

– 50,468 new email subscribers

– 3m 49s average page time
– 107,737 page views
– 61% conversion rate
